I lived in total darkness before you

I didn’t realize it was dark before you

The darkness was so deep that I could not see tomorrow

One day I walked outside and there you were

You’re brightness hurt my eyes. It was magnificent

Now I knew what darkness was

More importantly, what it was not

Though you didn’t stay, you gave me a wonderful gift

My quest is that brightness again, the warmth, a life in her glow

Now my journey is for something I did not know existed before you

Unlike before, I see past tomorrow now. I see forever

This is why I call her my forever love. And she will be

I know light, love, and my future. I knew of none of these before you

Before you I was lost in darkness. Thank you…
