I lived in total darkness before you

 

I didn’t realize it was dark before you

 

The darkness was so deep that I could not see tomorrow

 

One day I walked outside and there you were

 

You’re brightness hurt my eyes. It was magnificent  

 

Now I knew what darkness was

 

More importantly, what it was not

 

Though you didn’t stay, you gave me a wonderful gift

 

My quest is that brightness again, the warmth, a life in her glow

 

Now my journey is for something I did not know existed before you

 

Unlike before, I see past tomorrow now. I see forever

 

This is why I call her my forever love. And she will be

 

I know light, love, and my future. I knew of none of these before you
